Class Description

Fused Glass: Frit Design Saturday September 12 1-3pm Do you want to work with imagery, patterns, layering glass frit? Design and assemble your own 8 x 10 inch fused glass piece using a vibrant palette of frit in different sizes and shades. The process is similar to using glitter. It's a fun process with lots of room for creativity - bring a printed design if you have one or just an idea. Learn how to create imagery, patterns, and designs by layering frit and bits of glass. No previous glass experience is required. After class, your finished creations will be kiln-fired and available for pickup in approximately 2–3 weeks. A minimum of 3 students is required for each class. Please wear closed-toed shoes. All glass, tools, and materials are provided. This workshop is recommended for adults and mature teens. Teens may participate when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Space is limited. Fine Details: Glass fusing is the art of joining and shaping pieces of glass by heating them in a specialized kiln. Students will explore the process and create their own fused glass artwork with guidance from instructor Deanna Smith.
