Class Description

Art Basics: draw-paint-play: Fridays 12noon - 1:30pm October 2 - 30 Each month is a stand alone program 90 minutes each week led by artist Marie Blocker to get students started in this beginner artist series. Class Description Art Basics: draw-paint-play Painting, drawing and art basics class with Marie Blocker. These are buildable monthly lessons. Each month you will have a lesson on: Drawing, Acrylic painting & Watercolor/ Mixed Media. October 2 - 30: Simple landscapes: Easy hills & sky, Thru a window, Urban Sketching cute-wonky buildings. 5 class meetings this month All supplies and a sketchbook are provided. You are encouraged to bring any of your favorite pens or pencils etc. to class. Learn how to draw with basics, paint with watercolors, acrylics and use a variety of mixed media. Learn how to HAVE FUN! Explore foundational practices, simple composition, easy color theory & mixing, creating 3D form with shadow and light. Step by step instructions are great for beginners and intermediates. Build skills as you play! Our focus is to just create. With no expectations, just have fun. Get out there and make art! :) Each month we will explore something new: September-Flowers & nature: Easy flowers, Beautiful Trees, Cute animals, Bunches of Leaves. October-Simple landscapes: Easy hills & sky, Thru a window, Urban Sketching cute-wonky buildings. November-abstract & whimsical play: Playful intuitive mark making, whimsical faces, Colorful relaxing shape & Line Art , Cute creations & delightful art play. Let loose. December-Still life-every day objects: Ornament & cookie, Hot cocoa & candy cane, Oranges, pine & cinnamon sticks. Playful, fun & Cozy.
