Class Description
Shibori Indigo Dye Class Magda Dia Saturday May 24: 10am -3pm: learn steps of traditional Japanese Shibori* methods & dyeing fibers in this hands on workshop. Join studio favorite and art director, Magda Dia, in her annual Shibori Indigo Dye workshop where participants work with traditional Japanese binding methods called Shibori *plus fun modern tying techniques to cause a resist. Bring up to 6 -10 items in natural fabrics (cotton, silk, wool are best plus try to pre-washed to remove sizing). Magda will teach the steps and recipe for creating an indigo vat, also. Bring up to 6 - 10 items to dye and a sturdy pair of gloves Wear dark clothing including dark apron Bring a side dish - we'll have a community lunch outside *Shibori is a traditional Japanese method used to dye fabric. Beautiful, elaborate, dark blue and white patterns are created by tying, bunching, folding, stitching, and wrapping fabric to create resists, or spaces where the dye doesn't soak into the fabric. This event is entirely outside with access to restroom facilities.

No refunds on classes, semesters, camps, workshops, events or kits without 30 days notice. If you cannot attend an event consider assigning your space to another individual. Withdrawal from a semester long class or multi-week course will result in month fee.
