Candle Vessel Making: Throw & Pour Class

Class Description

Make a Ceramic Candle Vessel on the Pottery Wheel Single Class Choose a Saturday Session: February 28, April 4 and May 9 2-5pm Adults and teens Experience a super fun and entirely hands on pottery wheel throwing class with making your very own candle vessels with artist Emily Scott assisting every you step along the way. Fine details: - Students create up to 5 items (and keep your best 4) - Studio finishes your work with the glaze of your choice and candle scent of your choice - lavender, lemon, grapefruit and mint - Candle wax is a mixture of natural soy and beeswax and some imperfections from handmade and hand poured candle wax will occur - Pick up about 3 weeks later (we will call or text to advise) - All materials provided - Long hair should be tied back and extra long nails should be trimmed - We're serving wine but feel free to bring your own plus a corkscrew - All attendees need a ticket to attend - Choose your date carefully as we cannot move or alter your date (no refunds offered but feel free to gift your session to a friend if you cannot attend) - Class is 3 hours but expect 90 minutes of wheel time, 30 - 40 minutes of adding textures, stamping phrases and words into your candle vessels, plus 20 minutes of set up and clean up. What to Expect in our Candle Making: Throw & Pour Class: During each session, you’ll learn or refine your wheel-throwing skills and learn best practices for working with clay. First with wedging, centering and pulling the walls into the perfect cylindrical shape (or an approximation of the perfect shape!) for your personal candles - you’ll have a blast creating your original candles for your home. By the end of the evening, you’ll not only have unique ceramic candle vessels to take home (after glazing, firing plus pouring in your scented wax to create your candles ) but also great memories laughing and bonding over shared creativity.
